ABOUT ME
Rev. Olivia Bernkastel
Shinto priestess, working at Konkokyo Yokosuka shrine.
I am an ordained Shinto priestess (神職 or Shinshoku) of the Konko Faith since October 22nd, 2015.
I'm originally from Canada, but I am presently an Associate Priestess (神職), Toritsugi Mediator (取次者), [Faith] Teacher (教師) & Miko (巫女) at Konkokyo Yokosuka Shrine.
As a Shinto priestess (神職) I am available for traditional Shinto ritual and prayer services, such as: weddings, funerals, blessings, purification, groundbreaking ceremonies, and so forth.
As I am a priestess of Tenchi Kane no Kami-sama and the
Konko Faith in particular, I am trained to perform Toritsugi (取次) Mediation for you.
Toritsugi is when I mediate between you and Tenchi Kane no Kami-sama. It is a way to pray about anything on your heart and mind.
I relay those prayers to Tenchi Kane no Kami-sama with you, serving as the mediator. And in turn, if Tenchi Kane no Kami-sama has something to relay to you, I will relay it serving as the mediator between.
I am a teacher (教師), in the context of Konko Faith means to be one who may teach others about the ways of this faith.
Lastly, I serve as a Miko (巫女) which means I attend to duties for Kami-sama, the shrine, and worshippers. It means to clean the shrine, assist the other priests and worshippers, and offer sacred dance.
Please contact me at livingwithkami@gmail.com if you wish to receive Toritsugi, as well as for any other inquiries.
Thank you very much.
